How to Stop Malware From Infecting USB Ports

On your computer, linked USB devices may contain malware. Disable the computer’s USB connections if you use it in public areas (such as cafes, libraries, or even offices). This will protect your computer from infection and prevent data theft.

Launch the Device Manager. To do that, open the Run dialog box by pressing and holding the Windows + R keys. After entering devmgmt.msc, click OK.

Increase the list of Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Disable the device by doing a right-click on the USB port.

If a USB is virus-and malware-free, follow the instructions above and choose Enable to connect it without any issues.
